Here is the process for claim cards:

How does the claim card process work?

The Claim Card Process can be used to request a refund or photocopy of your Money Order. Depending on the status of your Money Order at the time the claim card is processed, either a photocopy of the front and back of the cashed Money Order or a refund check will be mailed to you.

The Claim Card Process is not a stop payment. A replacement check will be issued if the Money Order does not cash before processing is complete.

The process requires the purchaser to include:

  • A completed and legible claim card
  • A $15.00 non-refundable processing fee made payable to MoneyGram International (payable by check or Money Order)
  • A copy of the stub/purchaser's receipt
  • The Money Order number and dollar amount

To avoid processing delays please note the following:

  • Keep the original stub/purchaser's receipt for your records
  • Failure to include a copy of the stub/purchaser's receipt will delay processing
  • Incomplete or illegible Money Order Claim Cards will delay processing
  • If the Money Order has not been cashed and the fee is not included, the fee will be deducted from the refund amount
  • If the Money Order has been cashed, but the fee is not included, the photocopy will not be sent
  • If you have more than one Money Order, you must complete one claim card for each request
  • If you have more than one Money Order, the non-refundable processing fee must be included for each request
