2003 Montero Sport Stutter/shutter On Acceleration

a few days ago i had to lock the brakes up doing 55 to avoid hitting a motor home making a left turn from the right lane, a day afterwards when accelerating around 30 mph my montero is "lurching" on light acceleration, this has me stressed out can anyone give a heads up what the problem may be
