Word 2010 Macro Issue

We have a program which does a mail merge to Word 2010 using a template which works fine, however on all Windows 7 machines when word is automatically opened, you can't click any of the Word toolbars. The only thing that does work is closing Word (via the top right cross), Word then prompts you to save the file then we can go back in ok.I've Alt-tab'd through the Windows in case there was some sort of hidden prompt which there isn't. It's proving to be quite a pain, any ideas?

Could this program be protecting your document? Go to the Review tab and select Protect Document - Restrict Formatting and Editing. If it is protected, select Stop Protection If this is the issue, you can use this macro to stop the protection.

Sub StopProtection()

ActiveDocument.Unprotect

End Sub

Thanks
