My Headet Mic Isn't Working?

Hello. I have a Radioshack headset that consists of headphones and attached to them a microphone. For some reason, my headphones are working, but my microphone is not.

Specifics:

-I have Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit.

-My headphones are working when I plug its wire into the speaker hole.

-My headset has two wires - one for its mic and the other for its headphones.

-I have a RadioShack headset.

-I have Windows XP Service Pack 3.

You need to make sure the microphone wire is plugged in and that you have enabled recording in Windows correctly.
