Failsafe Engine Mode

My 2005 Mercury Montego check engine light came on about a week ago. I took it to AutoZone and was told it was the fuel rail pressure sensor. I took it to a mechanic shop and they said it was fine. Now my car is saying failsafe engine mode. Could it be the fuel rail pressure sensor causing it say that?

Failsafe mode is caused by a damaged component, such as an oil pump, timing chain or belt, crankshaft or camshaft, sensor failure, damaged electrical connection to or other internal engine. Contact dealership to detect and diagnose the cause of the trigger.
