Brake Lights Remain On

There is a brake light switch on the brake pedal rod. Follow the rod up from the brake pedal and you should see it under the dash. If the clamp that holds it in place gets bent, the brake lights will stay on. You'll probably have to bend the clamp down to get the brake lights to go off when your foot isn't on the brake.

If that doesn't work, then your brake light switch is defective. Very easy to replace. It just screws into place. Your local auto parts store should have one in stock.
