2000 Mercury Cougar Factory Alarm
where is the alarm located on a 2000 mercury cougar want to disconnect it having problems with the alarm light is on but alarm not working so car doesnt start

Take out the fuse, that will permanently disable alarm. But, it also stops power lock feature. Fuse box located under the steering wheel. There is a lever that releases fuse box. It is number 25 in the box, a yellow fuse, rated 20 amps. Simple take out. Maybe tape to inside of fuse cover if you need to put back.
