Transfer Case Replacement
I purchased a used 2007 E350 4matic in November of 2009. In September I experienced knocking and shuddering for about 10 minutes while starting and driving the car. I was told that it was the engine mounts and had them replaced. Still had rocking. Replaced spark plugs and two coils. Car was fine until a week ago when the car began to make a lound noise like a fire house siren and a metal rubbing sound when I drove. The longer my foot was on the gas the louder the siren and rubbing sounds. I just learned from a mechanic that the car needs a new transfer case. The car has 62,000 miles on it. Is this possible???
