My Memorex Touchmp Won't Turn On.

My sister brought this to my attention today, because she couldn't turn it on. I figured it wasn't charged, so i plugged it in but the computer gave no regignition that it was plugged into the USB Port. This was very strange, so I inspected the device and found that the plastic that covered the outside of the device had come loose on the left side, but when I tried to reconnect the to pieces of plastic, (the front piece and the back piece) I found it would click but not stay in fully.This leads me to believe that it was dropped and that the wiring has been dammaged somehow. Please respond if you have any idea how to fix this problem.
