Maytag Side By Side Refrigerator Center Strip Is Warm ....

center strip was hot hot to the touch... cleaned out the compressor and area in back of refrigerator and is seems to be staying fairly cool(luke warm to the touch now... Is this normal for the strip to be warm not hot to the touch..
