Water And Ice Dispenser

The refrigerator was purchaed in Feb.2011 and since March the dispener for both water and ice has operated erratically in that more frequently that not, when a glass is touched to the pad for ice, the dispenser opens, but the machanism that draws ot the ice does not respond - it is the same for the water and when the pad is not used to obtain water, nothing happens when the button is pushed. Everything in "troubleshooting has been tried, to not effect. This is a great disappointment as we never had this problem with our old refrigerator. How do we get yours to work properly?
