Dishes Not Dry

Why is our dishwasher not drying the dishes all the way?  We have it on the heated dry setting but the dishes are wet when it is done running.  I have to leave the washer door open with the racks pulled out for the dishes to dry in about 4 hours.  This doesn't seem right.  Thank you for your help.
