Selector Switch Or Torque Limiter?

My makita will sometimes stop drilling while hammering, Why? Is this do to a warn selector switch components, Something hanging up in the case? or possibly a worn out torqe limmiter clutch?

Stopping whilst hammering suggests that there could be a loose wire in the body of the drill which is disconnecting due to the vibration. If you feel competent, dis-assemble it and check for a broken or fragile wire. It could be just the mains connection into the drill. This is always a weak point where the wire enters the drill. Remaking that connection could offer a solution. Check the simple things first.
