How Do I Fax From Magic Jack Or The Phone/fax Machine? [email protected].

1st , set up the magic jack device using a regular telephone to see how it works.
Basically, you are just using your computer - which must have an always-on internet connection
.. (or on whenever you want to use the phone)
you connect the magic jack device to a port on your computer, then connect a telephone (or a telephone-type device like a fax) to the other end of the magic jack.
They have pretty decent support to get you started, but they do not officially support faxing.
If you need help, just get a normal telephone set up and working. Once you get that, then you can try faxing.
Since they won't help you with fax, you need to make the fax as "dumb and slow" as possible for the first few times. Turn off any error-correction, and set it to run as slow as it possibly can.
After you work out the bugs, then you can slowly try to speed it up or turn features back on.
It will never be as good as a good landline.. but it is equivalent or better than a cell phone or static - distant landline.
