Why Can't I Receive Calls On My Magicjack? My Phone Rings And When I Pick Up The

phone, there's no answer. Please explain why?

In my experience with my own magic jack - I've had the same thing happen. One of the specific reasons I was given was that my connection was causing a delay - meaning that the phone was actually ringing a lot longer than I had heard and so the party on the other end had already hung up. (Okay - that was plausible - and I verified that there had been a caller on the other end by checking my caller id log to see what number had called, and simply called them back to see if what was said could be true - and it was.)

The other thing that I was told was that there was an interference that had happened between the phone and the computer/magic jack - and so I was to 'unplug' and restart everything (safely remove magic jack from computer while it is up and running, then shut computer down, then unplug the phone from the magic jack and the wall; once that was done - wait 1 minute then plug power into phone again, then phone into magic jack, then magic jack into computer and then turn computer on and let it come up completely before trying anything - took about 3 minutes, verify that the 'service' type was correct (normal hi speed dsl - in my case vs. the 3G air card), and then try calling the phone from a cell phone to see if it works.)

This did work actually - and haven't had that problem since. The other thing I would suggest - if this doesn't work is to go to their website and click on the customer care/live agent link on the site and make sure you have a 'typed up list of what you've done already to try to fix the problem' ready - so you can just copy and paste to help make your 'live chat' session more profitable and quick for you.

Go to your magic jack menu options and change the settings in volumn/headset controls from telephone to headset/other.

I had the same problem, what I did was pay 13$ to buy a new number, but it didn't resovle the problem,

These are the steps I followed

1. Unplug Magicjack

2. Unstall the program

3. downlad the magicjack program from following linlk

http://upgrades.magicjack.com/upgrade/upgrade.exe

and Run

and while it was running I unplug the magicjack

4. As soon as you plugged the magicjack, it is trying to run its own program, what I did was I didn't allow to do that

5. I run program downloaded at step 3

I got my one work
