My Mj+ Keeps Losing Network Connectivity, Also Getting 'error 23' Audio Message

I'm using a MagicJack+ connected directly to my network, NOT my PC. It was activated on my PC, and occassionally, I get dialtone with it connected to the network, but then it drops connection. I know that because I can see connected devices on my router's admin page and I've noted the MAC address for the MJ+ (I've also given it a DHCP reservation so it always gets the same IP address). I have to unplug it, then replug it into the AC for it to come back. Sometimes I also get an audio message from it (on my phone) that says "Error 23, contact technical support." I also added port forwarding to it for UDP ports 5060 & 5070 (I saw that suggestion in someone else's post with a similar issue), but that didn't help either.

The instruction to "contact technical support" is virtually useless, since magicJack makes such contact almost impossible. You may want to consider returning the device, per these instructions. You could also complain to the Florida Dept. of Agriculture and Consumer Services, at 850-488-2221.

I had the same problem while plugging into my AT&T uverse router/modem, when I added a Netgear router it seemed to solve the problem. I reset it to defaults and turned on MTU to 1500 and NAT to OPEN

Lan ip set up is set to :

192.168.3.1 (default gateway)

255.255.255.0 mask

no RIP direction and

Rip version disabled

I used router as DHCP server but changed the network to 192.168.3.2-192.168.3.254 with 255.255.255.0 mask

(it WAS 192.168.1.1 same network as uverse)

turn UPnP On is checked

advertisement period in Min = 30

advertisement time to live in hops =4

If Magicjack plus plugged to router? Go in Router settings and

Check Router Advanced Firewall settings: open ports 5060 5070 UDP

or Set to DMZ in router for Magicjack plus.
