How Can I Call A Magic Jack User For The First Time By Using My Magic Jack?

My husband and I have smart phones, but our service is disconnected but we r both able to use WIFI for everything except phone service. Today we both got the magic jack app, but we can't call each other; therefore, how can we call each other using the magic jack?

The MagicJack app on a SmartPhone absolutely supports WiFi; I use it all the time. Please clarify what you mean by you can't call each other. Are you using the free App? (in which case you don't have an assigned phone number

We can not call each other from magic jack! It says u have to b called by the magic jack caller u r trying to reach. So how can that person call?

magicJack does not support wi-fi. Sorry.

It sounds to me like you are trying to use the MagicJack free app. The free app is a good way to test out the MagicJack service (and a great way to call home for free when you are traveling overseas). But, it doesn't give you a single assigned number*, so it probably won't work well as your primary number.

To call each other, at least one of you will need to upgrade to the paid app. If you find out what that costs, please post that information back here. I think that, without using a physical MagicJack device, it is $10/year. But since I have a physical device, which includes the MagicJack app (with my MJ phone number assigned to it); I'm not completely sure (and their website isn't clear).

* the Free app just pulls phone numbers from a pool. Allegedly, if the person you are calling has caller ID, they can call you back at that number and it will reach you; but I haven't tried that, so I don't know how well it works.
