How Do I Transfer My Magicjack To Someone Else?

I had a magicjack contract but now it is expired. I wish to give the magic jack apparatus to a friend so that they can do a new activation for themselves. Can I just give them my magic jack apparatus for them to activate a new contract? I want to make sure that I will not be responsible in any way for the billing.
