The magicJack Plus device plugs into the AC adapter, which plugs into the AC outlet. On the left of the unit you have a socket for the phone cable and one for the LAN cable. Or you could run the LAN cable from your router or switch. (This information is from this independent review, which you may wish to consult for more details and pictures.)

As to whether it's "good," it's received many positive reviews. I would not recommend it, however, because of the huge number of complaints I've encountered and because of its terrible customer support.
