Buttons Are Not Working But When Plugged In Air Conditioner Is On And Running.

I went to turn my air conditioner on the other day and when i did the buttons malfunctioned and I could not change settings. When I unplugged it and plugged it back in it automatically turns on. It is only 2 years old.
