Make sure the contacts in the battery compartment are clean and that the batteries are good. New batteries can occationally have a low charge.
Re-sync the keyboard and mouse. The instructions should be on bottom of the mouse, keyboard and the receiver unit.
On my older Logitech mice/keryboards I sometimes need to resync a few times before it takes. I have 6 sets of Logitech wireless mice/keyboards between home and work so I've done thiss numerous times.
It's really important that the batteries be good. On occation local interference can affect the connection too.
I also had an issue with a dirty lens on a mouse once. Try carefully rubbing the lens with a Q-tip to remove dust. Make sure the mousepad works. These mice are really finicky and won't work with some pads.
