Check To See If I Cancelled My Linkedin Account

My cousin created my LinkedIn account a long time ago. It is not accurate and does not reflect who I am. I never took the time to find out how to cancel it (too busy), but many people have been contacting me, including my director at the university where I teach. What my cousin wrote is not accurate, contains errors, and embarrasses me. He did not even put the correct name for the university I attended. I just cancelled my account, but I do not know how to make sure I did cancel it. Will you please let me know if I successfully cancelled it. Greetings - If you have closed it as explained below, then it should be permanently deleted.

Deleting a LinkedIn Account

1. Login to your LinkedIn account
2. Click on 'Account & Settings' found at the top of the homepage
3. Click 'Close Your Account' under 'Personal Information'
4. Select a reason for closing your account
5. Click 'Continue'

One last thing that would help give you a peace of mind is to try and login to this deleted account and observe - if you are not able to login any more, then it really is gone. If you however can still login succesfully to it, then please try and reclose it as explained above.
