D6 Worked Briefly Now Only In D4 ... Transmission Or Relay/other Problem?

Just got this 2005 Lincoln Nav for wife ... drove fine but after couple hundred miles D6 is no longer engaging it is stuck in D4 ... (D3,2,1 work too). Just wanted to know if this is a Transmission rebuild problem or a relay/Maxi Fuse problem???
