On the 2006 GS300, the oil filter is a canister type, which means you replace the element not the whole oil filter. The canister is located under a panel which will see in the center of the lower engine cover. This panel is held in place by 6 or 7 screws. Once you remove this panel you will see the canister where the filter is located. This canister just screws off, it will be tight because it us an o-ring to seal it. My suggestion, if you plan on doing your own oil changes, is to purchase a cup style oil filter wrench. You can pick these up at most auto parts stores for a couple of bucks. Once you have screwed the canister off, you can then change the element., replace the o-ring as well to prevent any leaks, then screw the canister back into place. You do not have to tightened it down real tight, just turn it in until it stops. If you are going to switch to mobil 1 synthetic, I highly recommend you replace the filter.
