Lenovo - Ideapad A1 Forgot Password

Hi,   I fogot the Lenovo IdeaPad A1 screen password. I was not able to do anything to get into it. Called Lenovo HelpDesk. After getting transferred to multiple phones finally I got hold of the hardware support. They told me that they cannot do anything over the the phone we just need to send the Tablet to there service center where they will reset it to the Factory Settings. It was frustrating to send it to the service center ans wait for weeks to get it back. Did some research on the topic one more user like me had a solution for it. Posting here so that others can benefit from it.   * Shutdown the Tablet by holding the Power button 10 seconds. * Hold the Volume button (+) and while holding it, press the Power button at the same time and keep holding both button pressed for 10 seconds. This will open the Factory Restore option. You will lose your data but at lease will be able to get it back. When it enters the Factory Reset menu use the Volume (+ and -) buttons for up and down movement and Power button to Select the Option you want to chose. Chose the Factory Reset option and then select Yes on the the confirmation page. In a minute or so you will see the message that the Tablet is set to Factory Settings and then Select Reboot the Tablet option. After rebooting you will get the initial setup screen which you got when it was new.   I hope this helps.   Lenovo : Shame on you and your Support. Train your people do do these basic things for the customers instead of standard solution "Send to our service stations and we will Reset it".
