If you can connect the new drive to an external adapter you can then image the old drive over to the new SSD. Then using a partition manager to resize the partition. Some imaging programs will enable you to resize the partition as it goes and also enable you to set it as bootable. Then re-install the new SSD and you should be good to go.
often gives partition managers away free and you can use them for a year on a full licence. You may be able to use one for a 7 day trial without issues. Do an internet search for same. Paragon.com offer one as do other software houses.
