The Tub Is Filling Up With Water When Machine Is Off

after washing a load of clothes, eventually a day later, there will be water in the tub. We even turned off the water supply and water still appeared in the tub. I thought it was backflowing from drain, but had drain cleaned. Is there a backflow valve somewhere?
