Why is my LG washer smoking during spin cycle?

A burning smell coming from the washing machine during or after the spin cycle can indicate that the drain pump has become seized, preventing it from turning. On belt driven models, the burning smell normally emanates from the belt slipping on the pump pulley.

Why is my LG washing machine smoking?

Light, wispy smoke coming from the bottom of the washing machine indicates a problem with the transmission shifting solenoid. ... And smoke coming from the control panel indicates a bad timer motor. Replace the defective components as needed.
