Tv Comes On But Screen Stays Black
2008 lg model 42lg60-UA I can turn TV on. the sound it makes when you turn it on. I can here that but the screen stays black I checked the compositors an don't see any pushed up of leaking any help would be wonder full

This is a very common symptom indicating the the filter capacitors on the power supply board are beginning to fail. These parts are used by the power supply to stabilize the power from the board but they overheat and start failing after a few years of use. If you can do a little soldering then you can do the repair yourself by replacing the filter capacitors of the board. Below you will see a picture of what the capacitors look like when they start to fail.

There are 9 capacitors on your board to replace and once they are replaced the unit should be as good as new. Here is a link to information showing which capacitors your board needs and the locations of the ones to replace:
