Using Lg Dle5977sm Laundry Dryer Built For Canada 110v In 220v Household.
Hello, I have moved from Canada to Europe and bring laundry dryer and washer with me. with washer I have no problem to use just connect it with transformer 220v to 110v.Unfortunately from one phase transformer I only have 1 hot and 1 neutral wires, but dryer requires two phase hot wires to make 220v in between for heater and one neutral to make 110v for controls and electronics.Is anybody has ideal how to rewire input to make this dryer work in Europe?Manual is very confusing saying for home with 120/240 volt minimum!!! Does that means I can use two hot wires with 220v? But it will make 380v between them for the heater?Would anybody help or give me some ideas, please.Thank you!

From your description it seems as that they have the 2 hot (live wires) wires in parallel. So the neutral wire is the centre one.. A simple solution is to connect one of the live wires as a neutral wire and the original neutral wire should be isolated. Then the 2 items will be in series. However I am concerned as to the system of the motor starting. There is normally a capacitor between a winding on the motor to a seperate starter winding to force the motor to start. These are normally rated for the original voltage it was designed for and so will not be capable of withstanding 240v. Also there are design issues when you connect a heater in series with a motor. It may work but I think in the scheme of things I would avoid going down this road. Better to invest in a new drier for safety.
