Why Instructions Say 'you Can Remove Insulation On Top Of Kitchenaid Dishwasher?

Why Do Kitchenaid Dishwasher Instructions Say The "you Can Remove Insulation (on Top Of Dishwasher) Along Perforated Line. Can We Also Choose To Leave The Insulation As Is. Will That Affect Negatively The Short And Long Term Performance Of The Dishwasher? i Do Hope You Have The Answer. Thank You.
