Temp Adjustment

We have a Kitchenaid which has 2 horizontal sliding temperature controls.  These controls have no markings, probably because they were rubbed off(?).  We assume that one of the controls is for the freezer and the other for the fridge.  Is that right?  Which is for the freezer and which for the fridge?  Which way should I slide them to get colder?
