My 2012 Patriot Sometimes Sputters Before Starting

I just bought a 2012 patriot with now only 260 miles on it.  every other day or so when I go to start the vehicle it cranks for an extended amount of time (usually about 5-8 seconds) before the engine starts.  Any ideas?
