2006 Jeep 5.7 Hemi Grand Cherokee 4x4

what is the removal proceedure for the oil pan with the engine remaining in the car. what parts in what order need to be removed for the oil pan to come down. called the dealer 4x'sand received no help.

Not specific to your model but should be similar,

Remove Structual Cover-The cover is made of die cast aluminum and joins the lower half of the trans bell hsg to the engine bedplate.
Remove left hand exhaust pipe from manifold
Loosen the right hand exhaust manifold to exhaust pipe retaining bolts
Remove the 8 bolts retaining the structual cover
Pivot exhaust downward and remove cover

Remove exhaust Y pipe
Remove starter
Drain oil
Unclip trans lines from support
Do not pry on pan. Gasket is mounted to the block in 3 locations and will remain attached to block when lowering pan. Gasket can not be removed with pan.
Remove oil pan bolts and pan. Remove oil pu tube and oil pan gasket.

Installation:
When installing the pan gasket/windage tray, start 4 pan bolts at each corner before tightening oil pu tube. This will keep pan gasket in alignment.
Install pu tube with new O ring. First tighten bolt ar O ring end of tube to 20 ft lbs, then tighten remaining.
Install oil pan 11 ft lbs

Structual Cover-
Position cover in vehicle
Install 4 bolts retaining cover to engine. Do not tighten bolts at this time
Install 4 cover to trans bolts, but do not tighten.
The cover must be held tightly against the engine and trans bell hsg during tightening sequence. Failure to do so may damage the cover.
Starting with the 2 rear cover to engine bolts tighten 40 ft lbs
