Power Windows Have Quit Working, Which Fuse And Or Circit Breaker Do I Check?

I own and work on a few different jeep Cherokees I have a 1992, 1995, and a 2000. And with almost all of them they have a problem with the door wiring. When the door is open if you look in the area where the door meets the body in-between both hinges you will see what looks like an accordion looking rubber boot. To find out if you have an issue with your door wiring you need to pull the boot away from the body and compress it to look inside. Don’t use anything sharp to pry the grommet away from the body or door (your choice) or you could cut the wires inside.

Inside the boot will see a variety of wires of all different colors some control the windows some control locks and others are for your radio speakers. What you need to look for is if any of these wires are broken or have cracks in them. If the do you need a new door wiring harness.

Explanation: When these jeeps were being manufactured the stock wiring harnesses were just a little too short after all the zip ties and tape applied to them it pulled them very tight in the door and forced the wires to bend every time you opened and closed your door. And just like when you bend a coat hanger one way then the other repeatedly it causes the wire to break or become damaged.
