Interior Lights Won't Go Out-auto Start No Longer Works

someone jammed rear overhead push light, once unjammed interior lights wont' go out when driving-seems to be some sort of short, changed fuse, lights remained off for awhile them came back on when driving-auto start and auto door locks no longer work (yes i did change batteries in remote). had to disconnect fuse to get interior lights to go out

Better check all the various user switches for the interior lights. Sounds like one is still shorted. This may require removal of the light pod from the ceiling. Also be sure that all the door switches are working when the doors is closed. That includes the one on the rear gate.

Jeep Grand Cherokees and other Jeep models from around the 2000 - 2003 era were notorious for having electrical issues. I'm about 7 years late to this website but if there are still people searching for answers on this subject. I would start with checking the wiring inside the rubber boots inside the front door jams. The wires were made to short from the get go and tend to break. I have had 3 different Grand Cherokees and all eventually had the same issue. The black ground wire was my issue in all 3 cases..
