The component you are describing is commonly known as a "Detent Pin" or "Spring Plunger." It's a type of quick-release pin that is used to secure tubes or bars in place with a spring-loaded locking mechanism.

The detent pin typically consists of the following parts:

  1. A cylindrical body with threading at one end.
  2. A push-button head on the opposite end.
  3. A spring inside the body that provides the locking force.
  4. A ball or pin that protrudes from the body and fits into a corresponding hole on the frame to lock the tube in place.

The detent pin is pressed into the frame's hole, and when you release the push-button, the spring tension causes the ball to shoot out and engage with the hole, securely holding the tube in place. To remove the tube, you press the button again, retracting the ball, and then you can slide the tube out.

If you need a replacement detent pin for your Invacare 66550 model, you can try contacting the manufacturer or an authorized Invacare dealer to inquire about the specific part. Alternatively, you can also search for "detent pin" or "spring plunger" with the appropriate size and specifications online or at hardware stores or specialty component suppliers. Make sure to match the thread size and length to fit your particular frame.
