How Do You Remove The Drain Plug

Howdy, in order to remove the drain plug you will require slotted screwdriver, a hammer, a paint can opener, a pair of long-nosed pliers, and a flashlight.

Seat the blade of the screwdriver near the top of the knockout and give it one sharp tap with the hammer. If you do it right, the knockout will be loose on top but still attached at the bottom. Use the hook of the paint can opener to pull the top of the knockout forward toward the dishwasher nipple until you can grasp it with the long-nosed pliers. With the pliers, rock the knockout back and forth while gently pulling to break the bottom flashing on the knockout until you can remove it.

If you did it right, there will be no debris in the disposal basket to rattle around. If you did it wrong, reach into the basket of the garbage disposal (power off, please) with the long-nosed pliers and fish the knockout out.
