Have All-wheel-drive Stopping After 2 Minutes On 2021 Palisade

I have a 2021 Palisade Ultimate with AWD. After about 6 months, the AWD warning light kept coming on after 2-5 minutes of driving. Also found drive indicator showed only front wheels with power after that. Took to dealer, said needs new transfer case and they need to order. Wait for 3 months trying to get feedback on status, no response from dealer after leaving many messages. Called Hyundai Customer Complaints, get case number and then back to crickets. Request updates, no response. What the hell am I missing here?

Yes, Hyundai has recalled over 100,000 2021 Palisade SUVs due to an issue with the all-wheel-drive system that can cause it to stop working after two minutes of driving. The recall affects Palisades that were manufactured between October 2020 and March 2021.

The problem is caused by a software glitch in the all-wheel-drive control module. When the software encounters a certain condition, it can disable the all-wheel-drive system. This can happen when the SUV is driving over rough terrain, or when it is towing a trailer.

If the all-wheel-drive system is disabled, the SUV will revert to rear-wheel drive. This can make it difficult to control the SUV in slippery conditions. In some cases, it can even cause the SUV to skid or slide.

Hyundai is not aware of any accidents or injuries caused by this issue. However, the company is issuing the recall as a precaution.

If you own a 2021 Palisade that is affected by this recall, you will be notified by Hyundai. You will be asked to take your SUV to a dealership to have the software in the all-wheel-drive control module updated. The update is free of charge.

The recall is expected to begin in early August 2023. You can contact Hyundai customer service at 1-800-633-5151 for more information.

Here are some additional details about the recall:

The recall affects 100,744 Palisades in the United States and Canada.

The affected SUVs were manufactured between October 2020 and March 2021.

The recall is being conducted in cooperation with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Hyundai is not aware of any accidents or injuries caused by this issue.

The software update will take about 30 minutes to install.

The update is free of charge.

If you have any questions about the recall, you can contact Hyundai customer service at 1-800-633-5151.
