Battery Light And Break Light Blinking

I had just filledup and was driving down the hwy. when the battery light and the break light came on and starting blinking. I got off the hwy and was driving trough town and they went off. I got back on the hwy and they came back on. what could it be. now they seem to stay on sometimes blink some times just on.
