If your car is running good, ignore the check engine light. I've owned cars that had the check engine light on for years with no problems. Sometimes the light automatically comes on at a certain mileage, say 60,000 or 100,000 miles. Sometimes it comes on because your car backfired once. It doesn't take much to trip that light. I personally think it's a scam to get you to take your car into the dealer so they can rip you off.

Now if your car is running poorly, that's another matter. A vacuum leak will cause the check engine light to come on and the car will run rough. But there are many vacuum hoses on your car, so their explanation sounds pretty lame to me. Unless you car is running terrible, I would ignore their conclusion and drive right by their dealership.
