Hood Latch Will Not Fully Engage

The hood latch on my 2004 Hyundai Sonata will not latch shut. I can see that it is closing part way, but it does not fully lock into place. I have adjusted the bumpers as low as they will go, but it still does not close into the locked position.

There are a few potential causes for a hood latch not fully engaging, including a damaged or misaligned latch mechanism, a damaged hood, or a problem with the hood release cable. It is recommended to have the issue inspected by a mechanic to determine the cause and the necessary repair.
