Speed Sensor For Non Abs

why is there a speed sensor on my 2003 elantra, if i have no abs

Does you car have cruise control? Vehicle speed sensors are also used for cruise control . The sensor helps the cruise control determine how fast you are going when you activate it, so it can maintain that exact speed.

Speed sensors are also used with automatic transmissions to determine when the tranny shifts for maximum torque and efficiency.
