Ticking Engine Sound
just replaced timming belt cramnkshaft sprocket water pump and now have a ticking sound possible comming from the rocker arm unsure any ideas 1999 hyundia elantra 2.0

If the sound is coming on when you are sitting idle with the engine running rev it up to see if the noise gets faster too. If this is the case, check for moving parts that could be moving, such as that new timing belt. A timing belt rubbing against a valve cover is common in early 2000 and late 1990 foreign cars. If the sound is not coming on when you are sitting idle it is not the engine.
