1) Low coolant level. Check the coolant in your radiator and make sure it's at the correct level. On most cars, that means within an inch of the radiator neck. Just be sure to remove the radiator cap when the engine is cold.
2) Thermostat is stuck or defective. Very easy and cheap to fix. It is under the thermostat housing (pictured below). Just be sure the auto parts store gives you the correct one for your car model and engine.
3)Heater core is plugged up. Not too hard to replace, but they are expensive. A minimum of $60 for your car. Usually removed from the firewall, but sometimes through the glove box area.
