How Long Does The 'wait' Stay On?

I just installed the Honeywell RTH7600. It almost went through one cycle getting the inside temp to 74 degrees and shut off. Now the "wait" is displayed. The unit has been off for over 2 hours and still isn't coming on. The current inside temp is 78 degrees. All wiring has been checked and rechecked. Any suggestions? Thank you

"Wait" is displayed when the compressor protection timer is on. You then have to wait 5 minutes for the system to restart safely, without damaging the compressor. Longer than 5 minutes may indicate a fault.
