The best way to make it work is to reset it.Steps to reset the Honeywell Thermostat 7000 Series
  1. Set the thermostat to "OFF."
  2. Head over to your circuit breaker box and turn the power to "OFF."
  3. Remove the thermostat from the wall-plate.
  4. You would be able to see 2 x AAA Alkaline Batteries present.
  5. Remove these batteries.
  6. Insert the batteries backwards in such a way that the negative pole lines with the positive terminal.
  7. Now, leave the batteries placed in such a way for at least five seconds.
  8. Remove the batteries again.
  9. Put them back in the correct way.
  10. The display should now turn "ON".
  11. Fix the thermostat back onto the wall plate and switch "ON" the circuit breaker box.

The user manual can be found on the Honeywell support page as well.
