why does the vsa light stay on?

This light alerts you to the fact that the vehicle stability assist system is not operating. You can turn the light off [see https://www.yourmechanic.com/question/how-do-you-turn-the-vsa-system-on-and-off], but it will return upon restarting your car. Honda wants you to take your car in for service to get the system operating again. If you don't care about that assist, the mechanic may be able to disable the system and keep the light off permanently.

When VSA is off, theVSA Activation Indicator light comes on as a reminder. Pressing the switch again turns the system back on. VSA is turned on every time you start the engine, even if you turned it off the last time you drove the car.
