If Alll My Gears Work Except The Second Gear Whats The Problem, Clutch Or Tranny

i took the tranny down and the pressure plate is good, so now i hear that if all other gears work fine then it will ne a transmission problem, if it is a tranny problem then i dont want to put the old tranny back on and go through all the extra work
