- Create your mail merge labels as you normally would.
- Make sure the Show/Hide tool is selected-you want to see the paragraph markers at the end of each paragraph.
- Position the insertion point in one of your labels on the last line that has text on it.
- Press the End key to move to the end of the line.
- Press Delete to delete the paragraph marker.
- Keep pressing Delete until the end-of-cell marker is at the end of the line.
- Repeat steps 3 through 5 for each label on the sheet.
Your labels should now be centered vertically.

How do you put text in the center of a box?
Align text vertically
Right-click the text box for which you want to set vertical alignment.
On the shortcut menu, click Format Text Box.
In the Format Text Box dialog box, click the Text Box tab.
In the Vertical alignment box, select Top, Middle, or Bottom.
Click OK.
